Hi all

Have been diagnosed with hemochromatosis (Iron overload).  Two mutations C282Y and H63D.  I manage this by blood letting once a month. Can i still eat like a predator?

Cheers

ubetido:

There's some good advice in these PH threads (IP6, apolactoferrin, coffee w/meals):

http://paleohacks.com/questions/6616/could-we-have-iron-overload

http://paleohacks.com/questions/65882/hemochromatosis-reducing-harmful-effects-of-treatment

And I've heard good things about this book:

I can't possibly say which combinations might be "enough" to deal with your red meat intake, because that depends on your individual circumstances.  You'll have to discover that for yourself through regular dietary record-keeping and blood testing.  (Also note my disclaimer on the sidebar.)

When trying to measure the efficacy of any dietary or medication change, there's no substitute for accurate tracking and regular measurement.
