I think I'm finally getting that the eating like a Predator only gets you so far and it can be hard to do when under financial pressure like I am right now (been eating way too much sugary cheap crap and some birdseed the past 5 days!  Bad me! Surprised

Having had lunch with my baby boomer aunt who doesn't really "get it" hasn't helped either.  I brought up possibly looking for optical tech/sales jobs again and at the time said I might be interested in making that a career and that I'd look into what it would take as an "assignment" before Thanksgiving. Now, I think I just said that to get her off my back.  I don't want a career, or a house or any of that other nerga that comes with societial status goals.  If reading Gryka's story has made me realize anything, it's I just want to live and be human.  As long as I have enough to cover the basics and do Aikido, I'm happy.

I know it's time for me to grow/evolve again, but I'm not quite sure what or how yet (other than getting back to eating like a Predator).

You're important.

Making enough money to feed yourself properly is not nerga.

Wanting to buy something only because someone else approves of it, or it alleviates boredom, or gives you the dopamine spike that you maybe outta be getting by doing something else probably is nerga.

It seems like you're overthinking this because someone that you feel (I'm extrapolating here) may be in love with our stuff-obsessed society approves of your plan.

Just because they think it's a good idea, doesn't mean it's a bad one, does it?

Yeah, I REALLY need to work on not over-thinking and thanks for the reminder about boredom.  I'm beginning to see that I tend to over think out of boredom and that's not a good thing.

An update, I got a little more cash than I thought I was with a recent paycheck and will be getting more hours at my current job so I won't be as tight financially as previously thought.

Also, have started to eat more like a predator againSmile

I made my massage therapist double-over with intense stomach-originating laughter when I told her in a very serious and intense tone with my that I was going to make it a top priority to relax.

Jen:

What E Craig said.

"I know it's time for me to grow/evolve again, but I'm not quite sure what or how yet."

Ask yourself: what sort of person do I want to be?  Envision that person -- how they move and carry themselves, how they interact with others, what their skills and passions are, how they spend their time.  Figure out how they're different from you, today.  Then set some goals that move you down the path of becoming that person.
