Just finished your excellent book and I'm looking forward to exploring the forums in more detail. While I  expect to have more questions and comments in the future, I'll content myself with one for now: are any of the "Die Biting the Throat" stickers still available? I'd be interested in putting one on my car and would love to help publicize the book by doing whatever small part I can to raise it's visibility.

Most certainly! Send me a PM with your mailing address and I'll send you some.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

[Note: Please pardon me while I move this thread to its own subject...apparently I forgot to lock the 'Welcome' thread.]

Hi, I'm trying to get the blog feed on my igoogle page, but when I click on 'subscribe to posts' it just opens up a huge page of a bunch of jumble.  Can anyone help me to get subscribed?  Thanks:)

Aaron:

I just recently changed the RSS feed settings.  Let me know if it's still broken, or if things have settled down.

First post here, but I anticipate reading much more than posting in the future.  I'd very much like to get a sticker or two to spread the word.  I anticipate buying several more copies of the book to pass along to a few friends and relatives who could very much benefit from reading it.  Thanks for your efforts.

Afff:

Sure!  Either send a PM with your address or email me through the "Contact" page, and I'll send you some.

I'm honored that you find Gryka's story worth spreading.

Welcome home.

(Note that if you want to buy multiple copies (3+), my publisher will give you a discount...and I'll sign them if you wish!  Contact them here.)

J,

A young friend of mine introduced me to your book in January, and I have read it 3 times since.  I have always been a fan of what I like to call "Fiction with a point."  Since I have become a frequent visitor to the site and forums, and have gone so far as to purchase 5 copies of the book for family and students.

As a professional martial artist, I have always felt in my blood that there was something just out of sight that I was missing in my understanding of the world.  I was raised by a family that highly values being in tune with nature.  Made my first kill at 7 (small deer, but come on I was 7) and went on to learn much through world travel. I've not been to the top of Everest, but been close enough to take great pictures.  I thank you for your insight and for taking the trouble to write it down in a format that my 15 year old son calls "a way-cool make-you-think kind of story."

We have a small but growing pack down here in NW Florida.  If you or any others are in our area, you are welcome to share our fire.

Jeff:

I know well the feeling that something is missing.  Most of us feel it as we're growing up (though we articulate it in different ways), and most of us manage to submerge it by constraining ourselves to travel on a well-defined pair of rails laid down by agricultural civilization.  One rail is production (e.g. "job", "career", "taxpayer") and the other is consumption ("homeowner", "sports fan").  But no matter how much nerga we bury it under, we all still know in our blood and bones that there is something wrong -- that this is not what humans are for.

That's the knowledge Gryka gave me...not by lecturing me or telling me what I should do, but simply by being who she was.  I've said it many times before: it's her story.  I just wrote it down.  I'm glad she spoke to you, and I'm honored that you're helping spread her story to others.

I received your email, and your stickers are on the way.  It's been a long time since I've been anywhere near the Panhandle, but I hope to accept your pack's kind invitation someday.

Welcome home.
